In a recent study by One4all Rewards, 39% of employees said they would like to see their workplace do more to encourage them to stay fit.

Regular exercise keeps people healthy and they become less vulnerable to the ‘bug going around the office’. An employee health and fitness system results in reduced absenteeism and saves huge amounts of costs on healthcare expenditure.

When employees engage in regular exercise, they are less stressful and are more interested in going above and beyond in their roles. In One4all’s research, 23% of employees said they would stay long-term in a company that offered health and fitness initiatives.

3. Reduce Stress

Stress is one of the leading causes of absenteeism at work, especially in high-pressure environments. Regular exercise is a great way of releasing the tensions that are causing stress levels to spike. Working out produces hormones like norepinephrine in the body that helps in proper brain functioning and also enhances mood.

4. Better Sleep

Research has shown that getting a good night’s sleep is key to fending off stress, depression, and sickness. And there is a direct link between regular exercise and sleep. Several studies have demonstrated that exercise is helpful in stabilising sleep patterns.

5. Increased Motivation

Regular exercise keeps employees more energetic, motivated and happy. And employees with more energy are more motivated in their role which leads to increased productivity in the workplace.
