New Years Resolution ideas for your Workplace

New Year’s resolutions tend to be about making changes to your personal life, but what if you were to implement some resolutions into your workplace?

We’ve put together a list of resolutions that can be easily incorporated into your workday, thus improving your productivity and overall wellbeing over time.

Less Procrastinating

We can all admit that we’ve done it, glancing at your phone or social media and the next thing you know, you’ve wasted 20 minutes on funny videos and must-read articles… Limit yourself and put the phone away. As they say: out of sight, out of mind.

If you’re easily distracted, work on projects in short bursts of 60-90 minutes to keep you focused.

Learn a New Skill

Expand on your knowledge this year; is there something you’ve always wanted to learn or a new skill to broaden the expertise of your position at your workplace? 

Depending on what you want to do - check-in with your employer - they may be able to assist you with up-skilling, whether that be with mentoring in your workplace or signing up to take classes to further your education.

Get Organised

Get into the habit of creating to-do lists and/or set reminders on your calendar app.

Stop burying paperwork and organise your desktop with the use of trays; labels and other relevant items can help you process work in a more productive manner. Having an organised structure for your workday is a great way to ensure that you use your time wisely, along with increasing productivity.

Eat Right

Eating healthy tends to be more of a personal goal, rather than a work orientated one, but carrying it over to the office can have some great benefits. Bringing your lunch to work will not only save you money, but it will give you the perseverance to keep eating right, along with improving your mood and energy.
